Bonjour, les filles! I know you’re thinking a lot about the New Year’s party and about the spectacular appearance that you’ll pull off. And I also know that choosing your make-up for such an important party is not the easiest task. So I thought of helping you out with some of the make-up styles that I absolutely love, and the funny thing is, they’re not that hard to achieve.
Bold lips
You already know that I’m a big fan of a make-up that has its focus on red lips. Living with french women, you can’t just not adopt this cute habit of theirs. Believe me, you’ll need nothing else, just a red lipstick that lasts all night. For the rest of the face, use a primer, concealer and a high coverage foundation is indispensable – your face has to look so flawless that the lips can be the main focus. You can also apply a little bit of mascara or a discreet blush, but I would now use these two last items – it’s up to you. For your lipstick to last, first apply a primer on the lips, after that, a coating of lipstick, removing the excess product by gently brushing your lips with a paper napkin to make it last longer. For more volume, just add a touch of colourless lip gloss on the bottom lip, starting from the middle and ending with the corners.
Strong lashes
Because I am a huge fan of natural make-up, when I choose to go nude with the lips, I like to accentuate the eyes, more specifically on the lashes, mostly because this season it’s all about the lashes, the bigger, the better ( you can get some inspiration from Giambattista Valli). When you want to have big lashes, but as natural as possible, not a la Twiggy, you can go with a discreet brown smokey eye look and, and it’s absolutely mandatory that you have well defined eyebrows – first comb them, and then set them. A make-up like this goes perfectly with a wide dress, translucent with pastel nuances.
Blushy cheeks
One of the things that I love about winter is how our cheeks seem to become blushy from the cold outside. Blushing is one of the trends that are my most favorite this season. Like in the case of the pronounced lips, in this case too the face has to be flawless. Apply plenty blush, and the effect should be like the time you meet eyes with the one you like, but he doesn’t know, or when he tells you for the first time that he loves you. Keep your lips natural and if you want, you can apply a little pink, lightly spread, on the mobile lid.
Classic is fantastic
Of course, you can choose from a variety of make-up looks that will never go out of fashion, like a smokey eye or a very graphic cat-eye. Those are make-ups with which you will never go wrong and that will put your eyes in value what no so many make-up looks can do. Because both of the looks imply a powerful contouring of the eyes, try to keep the rest of the face in a nude color – lips as natural as possible, very little mascara and almost no blush on the cheeks.
Next day’s make-up
You’ll drink too much champagne anyway, you’ll touch your eyes at some point or maybe your make-up will spread when it’s just the two of you. So why even bother? A very cute make-up, proposed by Fendi, having a very suggestive name ‚’’next day’s make-up’’, and it looks like as if you’ve woken up on the first day of the new year with black eyes and a messy make-up because you were too lazy to clean your face after getting home from the party. I find it very sexy, how about you?
