What I’ve learned

Every time, at the end of the year, I like to rewind, so that I can see my accomplishments, my joys, what made me laugh and what made me cry. The feeling that you get when you realise that you have so much to be thankful for, is unbelievable. In this time of the year, with all the chaos, all the fuss, the madness and all the people running around, I like to take a break and have a few hours for myself. You should try it.

I sometimes do a simple exercise: I try to visualise all the things I am thankful for and all the things that I’ve learned. For example, in 2015, I am so happy to have a wonderful family, that I can rejoice with Nicolai’s presence everyday and seeing Iancu and Ilona growing up so beautifully. I am very happy that, a year after going online with the blog, I managed to bring together and have such a wonderful community by my side– for which I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Regarding fashion, I have to say that no matter how experienced you are, you never stop learning. Today’s outfit, for example, with the ¾ grey dress in the middle, thought me that clothes can make your body happy, like receiving a hug, and come to think of it, maybe, besides the aesthetic and practical purpose of clothes, they can be just that. They need to be tailored by your heart’s contempt and you just need to accessorize them as they should be – today’s COS dress ’’screams’’ Marginela’s brown boots and a Chanel purse, I just listened to the dress. I’ve learned that details matter, even if they translate into the asymmetrical folding of a grey dress or a perfectly executed heel of a perfectly executed heel of a designer shoe or an unknown artist.

I have also learned in 2015 that I should enjoy the little simple things – sounds like a terrible cliche, I know, but I had to remind myself my journey so that I can succeed. A little bit of jemenfiche never hurt anyone. Or relaxation and simplicity. These are things I’ve learned in France, which, afterwards I’ve forgotten after returning home and very thankful to have them rediscovered in 2015.
What are your lessons for 2015 and from what are you thankful for, les filles?
