What is the scent of your childhood?

It’s fascinating for me how some flavours can send you back in time almost instantly. Every time I smell vanilla, I can imagine myself as a child, near Christmas, when the pound cakes were out of the oven, and I was helping my mother dust sugar over the vanilla cake that Nicolai was never able to make it as good as my mother ( don’t tell him I told you this, I will never admit it). The scent of cinnamon reminds me of the boiled wine I used to drink in high school, gathered near the fireplace and telling funny stories. Lavender takes me in France immediately, when we were driving around, just us two, through the fields in Provence.

Childhood memories also helped Stefania Squeglia, the founder of the brand of perfumes Mendittorosa Odori D’Anima, to go back in time and rediscover the beautiful scents of home. During a vacation on the Stromboli island in Italy, Stefania reminded herself of her childhood. Grandma’s jars, where the tomato sauce was comfortably set for winter, were the basic utensils used in mixing flower petals and water to create the home’s aromas. Later on, Stefania created Mendittorosa Odori D’Anima remembering the perfumes encapsulated in those bottles. Every perfume has its own personality, a particular meaning and a definite story. You can find the Mendittorosa Odori D’Anima perfumes in Beautik Haute Parfumerie and online, on www.beautik.ro.
Try them, les filles, it will be a sensory experience that you will never forget!
