Who is afraid of prints?

Mes cherries, are you afraid of prints? Well – I’m not. Not at all. When you know you are wearing correctly pieces with complex prints (plants, like the trousers I’m wearing today, but also geometric or floral prints) it’s pretty obvious that you’ve mastered one of the best rules when it comes to style: anything, but within limits.

The simplest option on how to wear prints is to never forget the 50-50 rule: half one-coloured, half print. Of course, if you have control over the situation and on the way you combine the elements. You can also wear a floral printed shirt with a skirt that has a geometric print (but  this is a different topic ). Coming back to our topic, if you respect the 50-50 rule – and you pay attention to the chromatics – you can’t fail.

As usual, I wanted to do things differently, and I combined not only pieces with different patterns, but also different textures and, I might say, even different styles. Of course that I would have worn the printed trousers with a one-coloured shirt. But where’s the fun when we choose to follow the recipe that is so frequently used?

The fear of prints is going to disappear if you choose to master the basic rule that I was talking about above. With time, you will find it natural to combine pieces with prints in such a way that you won’t be looking like a clown walking on the street. Style, les filles, sometimes you are born with it, but sometimes, you learn it.
