A few days ago I was invited at Motivi to discover the new trends for the 2016 spring-summer collection. I enjoyed the fashion get-together, the new pieces from the Motivi collection for this season and, of course, I tried on some items that I liked.
And because I also liked the list of 7 trends that Motivi gave us, I have to tell you all about them, mes cheries. The key words are: femininity, comfort, elegance.
Colours
The first trend of the list is all about a very abundant colour pallet. Marsala, the colour of 2015, is now being dethroned by colours like amethyst orchid, cadmium orange, rose quartz, tropical blue, green olive and stormy weather grey.
Prints
Dresses, tops or trousers – clothing items with prints are a must. You can choose from conversational prints, flower or nature inspired prints, stripes or geometrical figures prints, but also boho chic or ethnical inspired prints. It doesn’t matter which one you like the most, it’s crucial that they are found in your wardrobe.
The bow, a chic detail
2016 is the year that Motivi is laying emphasis on bow of different sizes. Suitable for a day at the office, but also for a night out, this little detail will give you outfit refinement and a welcome twist.
Romantic lace
The perfect illustration of femininity, the lace is the star of this season. You can choose from an all lace outfit or pieces that work in little lace accents. You’ve got to love it!
Go maxi
2016 won’t be the end of this trend. Maxi dresses and skirts still are the tenor summer. If you choose to go for a sharp colour, you will be a show stopper.
Nude shoulders
A seductive detail, nude shoulders are in the top trends made by Motivi this summer. No matter if you go for nude shoulders by wearing straps, or asymmetrical cuts, or for nude shoulders all the way, one thing is for sure: it’s a trend you won’t be able to ignore this summer.
Folds
I just love folds, so this is one of my favourite trends. Mixed with sharp colours, folds almost seem to give life to the dresses and skirts and, of course, will bring the outfit into prominence.
